Card authorization hold when updating or adding a credit card
When you update or add a payment card in your Account, a temporary authorization check of 1 USD/EUR/AUD is performed on the credit card.
SiteGround uses authorizations to confirm that the card is active and has been properly and safely stored with our payment processor.
Note that these authorizations are not actual payments and will be automatically released by your bank a few days later. This can be verified with your bank since the authorization will show as “Pending” instead of “Completed” in your bank statement.
Note: If your bank displays charges in a currency other than USD/EUR/AUD, you might see a different amount depending on the currency conversion.
