Why I can not transfer my domain to/from you?

In order to be able to transfer your domain name to another registrar, you need to first unlock your domain name. Domain names registered through SiteGround can be easily locked/unlocked from your Client Area. Go to Services > Domains and click Settings next to the domain name you need to unlock. Then click on the kebab menu and select Registrar Lock. Use the toggle button to choose one of the options. When ready, click Confirm.

If you have a domain that is not registered with us, you will need to contact your current registrar to unlock it.

NOTE: The registrar lock function serves as an extra precaution against unauthorized transfer of your domain name. We strongly recommend that you keep your domain in Registrar-Lock status, unless you plan to transfer it soon.

You’ll also need the EPP key for your domain name in order to be able to transfer your domain name. The EPP key (Authorization code) is one of the safeguards against unauthorized transfers of domain name registrations. It protects your rights as a domain owner.

The EPP key is required when transferring .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, and .us domain names. It is not possible to initiate a domain name transfer for these domains without an EPP code.

If your domain is registered through SiteGround and you need an EPP key to transfer it away, you can easily get the EPP key from the kebab menu > Get EPP Code.

If you do not know the EPP code of your domain name and you would like to transfer the domain to us, please contact your current registrar to obtain it.
